Agios Nikolaos Location
Crete is not only unique beaches, not gorgeous mountains, not only special food and great history.
Most importantly it’s better described by its people .Kazantzakis said: I knew that no matter what door you knock on in a Cretan village, it will be open for you.
A meal will be served in your honor and you will sleep between the best sheets in the house.
In Crete the stranger is still the unknown god.
Before him all doors and all hearts are opened.
How can describe such beauty.
Well ,paradise isn’t so far…
Faedra Beach is capable of easing your soul with a fuse of values and safety.
Firstly the combination of one of the most enchanting place 3 km from the beautiful town of Agios Nikolaos, 30 min from south Crete and 40 min from the city of Heraclion plus the natural sandy beach facing the crystal water of the Mirabello bay makes Faedra Beach the ideal choice to relax under the Greek sun and unwind in the wonderful island of Crete.
Secondly the lovely serene little town of Agios Nikolaos is the cosmopolitan capital of the prefecture of Lasithi.
The town is built on the site Mandraki, on the west side of the Gulf of Mirabello, but the current name comes from the Byzantine church of Saint Nikolaos located west of the city.
Thirdly, Walk the beautiful 40′ path to get to the town and feel the mediterranean breeze; swimming suite and photo camera is necessary for some relaxing stops and the breathtaking views.
Each place, if observed carefully, tells you multiple stories about its history, culture, biodiversity, geography, food, architecture and people. Many travellers consider exploring destinations on foot as the best way to delve into several intricate aspects of the place, which one might miss otherwise. This is why many passionate travellers are relying more on walking tours to enjoy the experience.
Though city walks are the most common form of walking tours, they are gradually moving to food walks, cultural trails and photography stroll among others according to the specific interest of the travellers.
Moreover with an international and cosmopolitan ambiance, the elegant pool restaurant and the privileged location of the hotel on the beach of Ammoudara inspires most travelers that want to discover Crete island relaxation and easy access to many sight seeings.

Lasithi is the easternmost regional unit on the island of Crete, to the east of Heraklion. Its capital is Agios Nikolaos, the other major towns being Ierapetra, Sitia, and Neapoli. Thanks to stunning beaches like Ammoudara,Almyros,Kalo Horio,Vulisma of Mirabello coast and its mild climate year-long, Lasithi attracts many tourists.
The beaches of Crete are beyond diverse. From small pebbles to soft white sand and sparklingly pink sand beaches, Crete has it all. The best way to spend a lazy day is with a chair and sun umbrella on one of Crete’s many beaches!
Mass tourism is served by places like Vai, Agios Nikolaos, Elounda, the island of Spinalonga at north and the Hrisi Island at south.
More off-beat tourism can be found in villages on the south coast like Myrtos, Makrys Gialos, Xerokambos and Koutsouras but also in many villages in the North or East of Sitia.

The lake is its most charming feature. Legend suggests that Athena and Artemis bathed in its waters. This lake is connected to the sea by a straight channel, while its natural surroundings of red rock and trees attract the visitor magnetically.
There are bustling cafeterias, charming coffee houses and tavernas serving traditional Cretan dishes or tidbits of local food, around the lake of Aghios Nikolaos with magnificent view.
